2026 Annual Meeting of the General Assembly held
The WFH 2026 Annual Meeting of the General Assembly was held today in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The meeting featured reports given by WFH board members and the voting in of new board members. During today’s meeting, medical and lay board members were voted in, including Cedric Hermans, MD who was voted as Vice President, Medical; and Carlos Safadi Marquez, who was acclaimed as Vice President, Finance. Volunteers recognized at WFH Opening Ceremony
At the WFH Opening Ceremony yesterday, three volunteers were recognized by the community. Carlos Safadi Márquez received the International Frank Schnabel Award, Ampaiwan Chuansumrit, MD, received the WFH International Lifetime Achievement Award, and Albert Farrugia received the WFH International Award for Outstanding Service. Booth Demo for WBDR, SDM, eLearning, AGS, GTR
Join us at the WFH booth on Tuesday at noon for live demonstrations of the Annual Global Survey (AGS), World Bleeding Disorders Registry (WBDR), Gene Therapy Registry (GTR), Shared Decision Making (SDM) Tool, and the WFH eLearning platform. The WFH Data & Research team will be on hand to answer questions, walk through the tools, and share tips on how to use these tools effectively to support your work and research.

The WFH WGBD committee will host this event on Tuesday where its work between 2018 and 2026 will be highlighted. Women leaders from around the world will also be celebrated, as will Susan Skinner Memorial Fund scholars, followed by the launch of a call to action to support this community. The WFH 2026 World Congress has been reviewed and approved for CME-CPD accreditation by the European Board for Accreditation in Hematology (EBAH). The EBAH has approved this educational activity for a maximum number of 24.5 CME-CPD credits. Each participant should only collect credits for time that they actually spent in the educational activity.
