The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) and the Canadian Hemophilia Society (CHS) are excited to welcome the global bleeding disorders community to the WFH 2022 World Congress—the first major hybrid event of the international bleeding disorders community. The in-person component of the hybrid Congress will take place in Montreal, Canada, with select sessions being broadcast through our virtual platform to an expected audience of more than 8,500 virtual attendees.
This important event will bring together all members of our community, including patients, hematologists, pediatricians, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, physiotherapists, dentists, nurses, social workers, psychologists, geneticists, laboratory technicians, researchers, scientists, policy makers, regulators, advocates and industry members. The WFH 2022 World Congress is the perfect forum for participants to foster collaboration, extend their network, share knowledge with colleagues, and problem-solve through discussions with delegates from diverse backgrounds.
The Congress program will cover the latest developments in our field, current patient healthcare issues, and the challenges ahead for the management and treatment of hemophilia, von Willebrand disease, rare factor deficiencies and inherited platelet disorders. In addition to this rich scientific content, there will also be ample opportunities for participants to make new friends and reconnect with old ones.
The in-person elements of the WFH 2022 World Congress will take place at the Montreal Convention Centre (Palais des congrès de Montréal), which is conveniently located in downtown Montreal, Canada, an island city known for its good food, rich culture, and unique European charm. The Congress venue is near public transportation, and also to the Old Montreal historical area.
The health, safety and well-being of our delegates, speakers, exhibitors, staff and workers is of paramount importance to the WFH and we are constantly monitoring the COVID-19 situation in Canada. We will continue to work closely with local health authorities in order to incorporate the latest health safety protocols into the planning and organization of the in-person component of the WFH 2022 World Congress. We will be prepared for any situation, as the state-of-art virtual Congress platform has the ability to seamlessly shift from a hybrid to a fully-virtual experience if necessary.
