Medical and PWBD concurrent plenaries taking place this morning
Today’s concurrent plenaries will look at novel therapies and treatment adherence for people with bleeding disorders. “Hemophilia in the era of novel therapies: Where do inhibitors feature in the new landscape?” will be given by Shannon Meeks, MD and will cover how non-factor therapies for the treatment of hemophilia A and hemophilia B are changing the treatment landscape. “Do PWBD treat as recommended? Why or why not?” will be given by Miguel Escobar, MD, and Juan Andrés Pereira de Souza. This plenary will look at treatment adherence for people with bleeding disorders, from defining adherence to addressing treatment burden exhaustion. Final Presentation Theatre session taking place today

Don’t miss this late breaking session on clinical trials and novel therapies
You probably have a busy day on our hands, but you might want to pencil in “Late breaking session: Clinical trials and novel therapies” taking place today at 15:15. This session will feature Trevor Baglin, Alok Srivastava, MD, and Meera Varadarajan, MD talking about the validation of gene therapy for hemophilia A, low-dose emicizumab, and SerpinPC. Closing plenary taking place this afternoon
Join us today at 16:30 for a 30-minute closing plenary. While it’s sad to see Congress end, this plenary will celebrate what we have accomplished in Madrid together in the name of Treatment for All. Hear from Alain Baumann, WFH President; Cedric Hermans, MD; Glenn Pierce, MD, PhD, WFH Vice President, Medical; and Cesar Garrido, President, WFH. Daniel-Aníbal García Diego Fedhemo, President of Fedhemo, the co-host of the Congress will also speak, as will Edwin Goh, President of Hemophilia Society of Malaysia—host of the next WFH World Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2026. Shuttle bus schedule
The WFH is providing a shuttle service between the official WFH hotels and the IFEMA Convention Center on Congress days. Several shuttles will travel between the Meliá Castilla, Novotel Madrid Center, Hotel H10 Tribeca, Ilunion Alcalá Norte, Ilunion Atrium, Marriott Auditorium, and the RIU Plaza España. WFH 2024 Congress signs will be posted at all boarding sites identifying the location as a WFH Shuttle pick-up and drop-off site.
