Un donateur de la FMH devient mentor d’un jeune pilote automobile en Afrique du Sud

Jan-Willem André de la Porte, un donateur de la FMH, est atteint d’hémophilie depuis sa naissance, et comme beaucoup de personnes touchées par cette maladie, souffre de dommages permanents au niveau des articulations.

Jan-Willem André de la Porte, un donateur de la FMH, est atteint d’hémophilie depuis sa naissance, et comme beaucoup de personnes touchées par cette maladie, souffre de dommages permanents au niveau des articulations. La jambe droite de M. André de la Porte ne peut plus se plier, et limite ainsi les activités physiques auxquelles il peut s’adonner. Toutefois, l’un des sports qu’il a pu pratiquer est la course automobile, une passion qui l’anime depuis l’âge de 15 ans. Grâce à un traitement prophylactique, il a pu régulièrement participer à des compétitions en Afrique du Sud. Aujourd’hui âgé de 66 ans, M. André de la Porte concourt toujours, et sert de mentor aux jeunes pilotes. L’un de ses protégés, Arnold Neveling, a récemment remporté une course d’endurance de 9 heures à Killarney, au Cap. Ce mois-ci, M. Neveling ira concourir dans une Lamborghini Huracan, qui sera fièrement décorée du logo de la FMH. Voici quelques photos de la voiture, véritable symbole de la détermination de Jan-Willem André de la Porte à ne pas laisser l’hémophilie être un obstacle à sa passion.
