Miguel Escobar élu membre médical du conseil d’administration de la FMH

La Fédération mondiale de l’hémophilie (FMH) a le plaisir d’annoncer que Miguel Escobar a été élu membre médical du conseil d’administration de la FMH, à l’occasion de l’assemblée générale qui s’est tenue au Congrès mondial 2024 de la FMH à Madrid (Espagne). Son mandat durera quatre ans.

Miguel Escobar (MD) est hématologue et possède plusieurs dizaines d’années d’expérience dans le domaine des troubles héréditaires de la coagulation. Il est actuellement professeur titulaire au Science Center de l’école de médecine Houston-McGovern de l’université du Texas ; il est aussi directeur médical du Gulf States Hemophilia & Thrombophilia Center.

Escobar est bénévole au sein de la Fédération mondiale de l’hémophilie depuis 25 ans, et fait partie du Programme de bourses des centres internationaux de formation en hémophilie (CIFH) depuis 16 ans. Au cours de son mandat de président du comité des CIFH, il a aidé à ouvrir huit nouveaux centres de formation dans plusieurs pays et facilité la formation de plus de 200 bénéficiaires. Le Gulf States Hemophilia & Thrombophilia Center, dont il est le directeur médical, est l’un des centres internationaux de la FMH depuis 2001. Il a aussi contribué à l’élaboration de lignes directrices de traitement et il est bénévole auprès du Programme d’aide humanitaire de la FMH.

The WFH has been made aware of various correspondences—circulated via e-mail and telephone—coming from individuals impersonating WFH staff or falsely stating that they are associated with the WFH.
