El doctor Miguel Escobar electo como miembro médico al consejo directivo de la FMH

La Federación Mundial de Hemofilia (FMH) tiene el enorme gusto de anunciar que el doctor Miguel Escobar fue electo como miembro médico al consejo directivo de la FMH, en la reunión anual de la Asamblea General que tuvo lugar durante el Congreso Mundial 2024 de la FMH, en Madrid, España, para un periodo de cuatro años.

El doctor Miguel Escobar es hematólogo y cuenta con décadas de experiencia en el campo de los trastornos de la coagulación. Actualmente es profesor titular en el Centro de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de Texas, en la Escuela Médica Houston-McGovern, y director médico del Centro de Hemofilia y Trombosis de los Estados del Golfo.

Escobar ha colaborado con la FMH como voluntario durante 25 años y ha formado parte del Programa de becas en Centros Internacionales de Entrenamiento en Hemofilia (CIEHEMO) durante 16 años. Cuando fue director del Comité de CIEHEMO ayudó a abrir ocho centros de entrenamiento adicionales en diferentes países y facilitó la capacitación de más de 200 becarios. El Centro de Hemofilia y Trombosis de los Estados del Golfo, del cual Escobar es director médico, ha sido un centro internacional de entrenamiento de la FMH desde el 2001. También ha participado en la elaboración de guías de tratamiento y es voluntario del Programa de Ayuda Humanitaria de la FMH.

The WFH has been made aware of various correspondences—circulated via e-mail and telephone—coming from individuals impersonating WFH staff or falsely stating that they are associated with the WFH.
