WFH is committed to building an equitable, diverse and inclusive organization.
With members, staff, volunteers and Board members from over 147 countries around the world, the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) adheres to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). These principles are connected and integral to achieving our organizational objectives and mission to improve and sustain care for people with inherited bleeding disorders around the world. WFH is therefore formally committed to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion in all its spheres of activity, as well as in the support it provides to its members and the global bleeding disorders community.
To allow all individuals to benefit from the same opportunities and develop their full potential and work in a welcoming and safe environment, WFH is committed to:
- Promoting and growing EDI within the organization;
- Fostering a working environment that advocates respect for all and in which individual differences, perspectives, and contributions are recognized and valued;
- Attracting, retaining and developing a diverse range of talented, committed and caring people that best represent the community in which we operate;
- Regularly reviewing and updating its practices, procedures and policies to ensure these conform with principles of equity, diversity and inclusion;
- Informing its members, staff, volunteers and Board members of its equity, diversity and inclusion commitments and actions;
- Not tolerating any form of bullying, discrimination, harassment or violence.
As further reflection of WFH’s commitment to EDI, an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Policy has been adopted. The full championing of our EDI commitments and the application of this Policy depend on the support and efforts deployed by every member of the WFH team — staff, senior management, volunteers and members of the Board of Directors.
