“Haemophilia Care in India: A Multicentre Cross-Sectional Analysis From the World Bleeding Disorders Registry Benchmarking Across Global Gross National Income Strata” provides the first national benchmark of hemophilia care in India by comparing outcomes with regional and income-stratified global cohorts. The findings reveal significant gaps in timely diagnosis, access to prophylaxis, and joint health outcomes, reflecting disparities closely linked to national income levels. Despite severe disease burden and limited prophylactic treatment, employment rates among adults remained relatively stable, highlighting the resilience of many people living with hemophilia.
The study also underscores the importance of WBDR data in advancing research at both national and regional levels, while demonstrating how such data can support evidence-based advocacy efforts. The WBDR team worked in collaboration with participating centres, supporting data analysis and manuscript preparation.
