WFH participates in WHO Regional Committee meeting for Eastern Mediterranean

La FMH participa en reunión del Comité Regional de la OMS para el Mediterráneo Oriental

La semana pasada, la Federación Mundial de Hemofilia (FMH) participó en la 71ª reunión del Comité Regional de la Oficina Regional del Mediterráneo Oriental (EMRO por su sigla en inglés) de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), celebrada en Doha, Qatar. La presencia de la FMH en el Comité Regional es importante porque ofrece a nuestra comunidad la oportunidad de ser escuchada en la OMS por partes interesadas, a escala mundial y regional.

Durante una sesión dedicada a la iniciativa regional emblemática de la EMRO para ampliar el acceso equitativo a productos médicos, la FMH presentó una declaración en la que expresaba su satisfacción por el enfoque de la iniciativa en el acceso equitativo y abogaba por la inclusión de los trastornos de la coagulación hereditarios en planes nacionales de enfermedades no transmisibles, de cobertura médica universal y de atención primaria. La FMH también solicitó una iniciativa impulsada por los estados miembros a fin de adoptar una resolución de la Asamblea Mundial de la Salud (AMS) sobre la hemofilia y otros trastornos de la coagulación hereditarios como iniciativas que contribuirán al acceso equitativo en la región de la EMRO y más allá de la misma.

Los comités regionales de la OMS se reúnen cada año para formular políticas, proporcionar supervisión a programas regionales, escuchar informes de avances, y considerar, revisar y respaldar nuevas iniciativas. La Asamblea Mundial de la Salud es el órgano de toma de decisiones de la OMS y se centra en temas de salud mundial específicos identificados por el consejo ejecutivo de la OMS. Cada año, la FMH es invitada a participar en estas reuniones de los órganos rectores de la OMS en su calidad de actor no estatal, estatus formal del que goza desde la década de los sesenta.

The WFH has been made aware of various correspondences—circulated via e-mail and telephone—coming from individuals impersonating WFH staff or falsely stating that they are associated with the WFH. These correspondences, which may seek to obtain money using the name of someone affiliated with the WFH, are fraudulent and come from outside of our organization.

If you receive a suspicious solicitation, exercise extreme caution. In the case of an email, look at the email address to see if it looks suspicious (for example, all WFH emails come from @wfh.org).
