La FMH lamenta el deceso de Mark Brooker

Con enorme tristeza, la Federación Mundial de Hemofilia (FMH) recibió la noticia del reciente fallecimiento de Mark Brooker, un colega muy apreciado cuyas aportaciones ayudaron a moldear a la Federación y a impulsar la atención para las personas con trastornos de la coagulación alrededor del mundo.

Mark empezó a colaborar con la FMH en 2002 y dedicó más de 17 años a fortalecer programas que actualmente continúan apoyando a la comunidad mundial de trastornos de la coagulación. Durante su encargo desempeñó un papel esencial en la ampliación de nuestros conocimientos sobre la seguridad, la disponibilidad y el suministro de productos de tratamiento, y su participación fue instrumental en la elaboración de varias iniciativas clave de la FMH.

Entre sus múltiples aportaciones, Mark ayudó a establecer programas que han tenido un impacto duradero en nuestra comunidad, entre ellos el Sondeo Mundial Anual (SMA), el Foro mundial de la FMH, el Proyecto Recuperación, el Registro en línea de la FMH de concentrados de factor de coagulación, la Guía de la FMH sobre licitaciones nacionales para la compra de concentrados de factor de coagulación, la Guía sobre reglamentación, y numerosos materiales educativos y sobre cabildeo. Su labor proporcionó datos y herramientas fundamentales que han orientado políticas, fortalecido prácticas de adquisición, respaldado iniciativas de cabildeo y mejorado el acceso al tratamiento en todo el mundo.

A nombre de la comunidad mundial de trastornos de la coagulación, la FMH desea expresar sus más sinceras condolencias a familiares, amigos y colegas de Mark Brooker, así como a todos quienes tuvieron el privilegio de colaborar con él. The WFH has been made aware of various correspondences—circulated via e-mail and telephone—coming from individuals impersonating WFH staff or falsely stating that they are associated with the WFH. These correspondences, which may seek to obtain money using the name of someone affiliated with the WFH, are fraudulent and come from outside of our organization.

If you receive a suspicious solicitation, exercise extreme caution. In the case of an email, look at the email address to see if it looks suspicious (for example, all WFH emails come from @wfh.org).
