Sanofi Genzyme suspende a nivel mundial la dosificación en los ensayos de fitusirán, a fin de investigar nuevos efectos adversos

6 de noviembre de 2020 – La FMH, el EHC y la NHF supieron y posteriormente confirmaron que Sanofi Genzyme decidió iniciar voluntariamente una suspensión de la dosificación a nivel mundial de su programa de desarrollo completo para fitusirán debido a la identificación de nuevos efectos adversos.

Acerca del fitusirán

El fitusirán es una terapia experimental sin factor de reemplazo, que se administra por vía subcutánea una vez al mes, y que utiliza un mecanismo de interferencia conocido como ARN pequeño de interferencia (ARNip) –también conocido como ARN de silenciamiento– cuyo objetivo es reducir la antitrombina, fomentando así una generación de trombina suficiente para restaurar la hemostasia y prevenir hemorragias en pacientes con hemofilia A o B, sin inhibidores.
