This year, it is our honour to bestow the 2022 WFH International Lifetime Achievement Award on Michael Soucie, MD. This Award was established in 2006 and is given to an individual in recognition of a body of work over a period of time.
A dedicated volunteer and researcher for more than 30 years, Soucie was pivotal in expanding access to comprehensive care in the U.S.A hemophilia treatment center network. His work has supported and solidified the importance of the integrated multidisciplinary care model, and has highlighted the essential importance of making it possible for all people with inherited bleeding disorders to have access to a hemophilia treatment centre, regardless of where they live.
Mike has inspired many, including myself. The CDC Universal Data Collection and the WFH Annual Global Survey, to mention only two, would not be where they are without Mike’s dedication and leadership.

Soucie has freely shared his time, knowledge, and expertise worldwide. His publications continue to be used globally to introduce, improve, and sustain care.
