Recognizing that succession planning is essential for maintaining strong, resilient patient groups, the WFH Youth Leadership Program was established to train future leaders in organizational development skills. As part of the program, the Global Youth Leadership Training takes place every two years, bringing together young leaders from various countries for comprehensive training to strengthen their leadership impact.
This year, the training welcomed 18 participants from 17 countries and featured interactive capacity-building workshops focused on effective communication, digital marketing for advocacy, and project management, equipping youth leaders with tools to enhance their leadership roles within their respective NMOs. Through engaging discussions, collaborative workshopping, and peer learning, participants gained insights into succession planning and strategies to strengthen their organizations.
A key highlight of the training was the “sharing of experience” session, where participants had the chance to showcase the impactful work of youth groups worldwide. Five participants were selected to present, facilitating an exchange of knowledge, lived experiences, and best practices.
Additionally, attendees had the unique opportunity to participate in the WFH 2025 Comprehensive Care Summit, held in April in Dubai, where they explored advancements in bleeding disorder care and musculoskeletal health. Specialized tracks catered to individuals with bleeding disorders and community advocates, fostering deeper understanding and collaboration.
Beyond the skills gained, participants emphasized that one of the most meaningful takeaways from the event was the friendships and global connections they forged during the training. By meeting peers from diverse backgrounds, they gained new perspectives that will shape their future contributions to their NMOs.
The WFH 2025 Global Youth Leadership Training] left me with valuable learnings and new perspectives that will certainly have a positive influence on myself and on my commitment to influence my NMO in the same important way.

With the training concluded, the next phase of the program is now underway. Participants are implementing projects within their NMOs to apply the skills learning at the Global Youth Leadership Training and contribute to the objectives of their organizations. These initiatives mark an exciting phase in empowering young leaders to enact meaningful change. The WFH looks forward to witnessing the achievements of these dedicated individuals and celebrating the impact of their contributions.
