Bishesh Poudyal co-opted to WFH Board of Directors

The World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) 2022 Annual Meeting of the General Assembly was held on Saturday, May 8, before the WFH 2022 World Congress. The event saw the re-election and election of several new board members. Bishesh Poudyal, MD, has now been co-opted.

Bishesh Poudyal, MD, Professor of Hematology, DM Hematology Coordinator and Head of Clinical Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant at the Civil Service Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal, has been co-opted to the WFH Board of Directors as a Medical Member. Poudyal has been involved with the Nepal Hemophilia Society (NHS) and WFH for many years. He is a champion of the WFH World Bleeding Disorders Registry (WBDR), sharing his hands-on experience with the WFH and helping to enhance data collection globally. With the NHS, he was part of a team of dedicated community members who successfully advocated with different levels of the Nepalese government to both improve the recognition of bleeding disorders and secure additional funding. Poudyal has also worked tirelessly as a teacher, sharing his knowledge on effectively using product donated by the WFH Humanitarian Aid Program, and educating patients on how to best manage their condition.

As a Medical Member on our board, Poudyal will continue to share his invaluable experience with the global bleeding disorders community. Please join us in welcoming Bishesh Poudyal to the WFH Board of Directors.
