The time has come once again to shine a light on the people who have gone above and beyond in serving the global bleeding disorders community
Do you know someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the local or global bleeding disorders community? If so, let your voice be heard: the WFH is now accepting nominations for the 2026 WFH Volunteer Awards.
International Frank Schnabel Volunteer Award
Established in 2004, this award is named in honour of WFH founder Frank Schnabel. It is given to an individual with a bleeding disorder or a family member of an individual with a bleeding disorder who has contributed to furthering the mission and goals of the WFH over a number of years through their leadership and actions, not only in their country of origin but in service of the broader community.
International Healthcare Volunteer Award
Established in 2004, this award honours a healthcare professional who has contributed significantly in furthering the mission and goals of the WFH in a volunteer role. Candidates for this award include all members of the multidisciplinary care team, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, dentists, and other health professionals.
The WFH President’s Award
Established in 2018, this award recognizes either an individual or an organization that has made an impact nationwide and that has contributed significantly to furthering the mission and goals of the WFH. In 2024, a new eligibility category was introduced to recognize individuals and organizations advancing recognition, visibility, diagnosis, and/or access to care for women and girls with bleeding disorders (WGBD).
The deadline to submit a nomination is November 30, 2025, at 23:59 EST. Winners will be announced during the WFH 2026 World Congress in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
