The first day of the event highlighted WFH programs in the region and emphasized how data can drive scientific research. Sessions included presentations on research methodology by Babara Konkle, MD, and a featured discussion on scientific publishing.
The second day shifted towards advocacy, beginning with an introduction to advocacy methodology by Emna Gouider, MD, Vice President, NMO, WFH. Participants examined how WFH Annual Global Survey (AGS) and WFH World Bleeding Disorders Registry (WBDR) data can support national decision-making, explored regional challenges, and reviewed how the WFH Shared Decision-Making Tool (SDM) can be used to strengthen advocacy.
On each day of the workshop, participants drew on material that were presented and applied them through collaborative exercises. The goal of these exercises was to practice drafting research proposals and advocacy campaigns for bleeding disorders. Participants also had the opportunity to define advocacy priorities in the Eastern Mediterranean region as a group.
