WFH USA advances the global mission of the WFH in the United States. It provides American citizens, foundations, and corporations with the opportunity to support the WFH vision of Treatment for All for people with bleeding disorders worldwide. The power of this mission was demonstrated at BDC 2025 during the opening ceremony:
Whether through financial support, volunteer leadership, or program participation, our U.S.A. partners use their “time, talent, and treasure” to extend their reach far beyond their local communities to improve care and access for people living with bleeding disorders worldwide.
One inspirational example of a partner’s commitment is that of the Bleeding Disorders Foundation of North Carolina—an organization that has worked with WFH for more than a decade. Their consistent engagement reflects the spirit of leadership and solidarity that unites the U.S.A. bleeding disorders community with people and families across the globe.
The conference was also an opportunity to celebrate the leadership of our community. During the NBDF’s 2025 Annual Awards of Excellence, WFH USA President Len Valentino, MD, was named Researcher of the Year, and Glenn Pierce, MD, PhD, WFH Vice President, Medical and WFH USA Board Member, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. These honours underscore the vital role of U.S.A. leadership in the global bleeding disorders community. The recognition of Valentino and Pierce highlights how U.S.A. expertise, innovation, and commitment continue to drive progress—not only in that country but also worldwide.
