Koerper was a distinguished pediatric hematologist who dedicated her career to advancing care for people with bleeding disorders. She was the founder of the UCSF Hemophilia Treatment Center, co-founder of Camp Hemotion, a leader during the AIDS epidemic, and the recipient of many awards, including the NBDF Lifetime Achievement award. Koerper combined medical expertise with compassion to improve lives globally through initiatives with the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF) and the World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH).
