David Silva—who has hemophilia A—has been active in the Spanish bleeding disorders community for more than 25 years. He has been a member of the Steering Committee for the Spanish national member organization (NMO), the Federación Española de Hemofilia, and was also a lay member of the Executive Committee for the WFH for five years. He is currently President of the Real Fundación Victoria Eugenia, an organization that works to promote and disseminate scientific research in the field of hemophilia and other associated conditions.
Silva’s professional career has spanned 15 years at many non-profits and includes executive-level positions at an organization for people with disabilities in Galicia. He is currently working in vocational education and training for young students at an educational centre in Spain.
