Thanks to the dedication of our community members, our first-ever World Hemophilia Day fundraising campaign was a rousing success. People living with a bleeding disorder, their friends and family members as well as corporate partners and World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH) staff all came together in support of the work we do every day in pursuit of our vision of Treatment for All.
Over the course of four days the global community contributed over $20,000 in support of WFH initiatives. The family of WFH founder Frank Schnabel generously kicked off the campaign by offering a matching gift. Members of the WFH and WFH USA boards followed suit by making their annual gifts while employees at uniQure, a corporate partner, banded together to raise funds. NHF Chapters from Ohio and Wisconsin also renewed their support during the campaign. Finally, WFH staff were encouraged to get active and prioritize their mental health leading up to the campaign. Staff highlights included CEO Alain Baumann completing a 19 kilometre walk and the creative efforts of Toong Youttananukorn and the Research and Education department, who raised over $400 in donations as they promoted their physical activity online.
The WFH would like to thank everyone who made a gift. Your generosity and acts of solidarity affirm that while we may be apart for now, we are in this together. The funds raised will allow us to continue delivering crucial training and education programs, and will provide us with the flexibility to quickly respond to the needs of our community as they evolve.
You can still help! Turn your compassion into action by supporting our work here. Your gift today. Their future tomorrow.
