The WFH vision is of Treatment for All: a world where everyone with inherited bleeding disorders has access to care, regardless of their type of bleeding disorder, gender, or where they live. We have worked hard to get closer to this goal through collaborations with stakeholders around the world—including our invaluable national member organizations (NMOs), our healthcare providers, government institutions, collaborating organizations, and industry partners. The video below shows what we’ve done over the last six decades, and how we’ve made a difference in people’s lives.
Together, we’ve accomplished so much, and we’re excited to continue working with organizations and people around the world to make a difference for our global community.
—Cesar Garrido, WFH President
We have helped contribute to the global bleeding disorders community in many ways:
- Our many healthcare development programs, treatment guidelines and educational resources have empowered patients and healthcare providers to provide and advocate for the best possible care
- Our WFH Humanitarian Aid Program—which has provided treatment to tens of thousands of people—has dramatically improved the quality of life of people with bleeding disorders
- Our research and data collection and NMO training have had a huge impact on clinical care, and have empowered community leaders to advocate for better care in their countries.
- Our volunteers—whom we can’t thank enough—have given so much to the WFH to help us get closer to our vision of Treatment for All.
We would like to thank everyone who has played a part in our exciting journey which began 60 years ago: our NMOs, our industry and community partners and other donors, the healthcare practitioners and researchers who have collaborated with us, our staff, and of course, the people with bleeding disorders around the world who have put their trust in us.
