Emna Gouider, MD, is a hematologist based in Tunisia, and has worked in the inherited bleeding disorders field for over two decades. She has been a volunteer with the Tunisian Association of Hemophilia—the WFH national member organization (NMO)—for nine years in various capacities, including as a board member. She is currently medical and scientific advisor for the NMO. She is also head of the Centre de traitement des hémophiles de Tunis hemophilia treatment centre (HTC) in Tunis.
By collaborating with the WFH as a leader with the Tunisian NMO, Gouider was able to build a successful national hemophilia treatment program, work closely with governments to set up a tendering process for clotting factor concentrates, set up a dedicated hemophilia treatment centre with a trained multi-disciplinary team, and introduce a low-dose prophylaxis program for children. She also worked to break some social taboos to increase focus on women and girls with bleeding disorders in her country.
Emna Gouiders’ invaluable experience will be a great asset to the WFH as Vice President, NMO. Please join us in welcoming her to the WFH Board of Directors.
