The goal of the scholarship\u2014created in honour of the late Susan Skinner\u2014is to promote the engagement of women and girls in the global bleeding disorders community by providing them with opportunities for education, training, and networking. \u201cI made genuine connections and gained valuable skills that will help me further my involvement in the bleeding disorder community,\u201d said Dara Dowling, 22, from Ireland. \u201cIn my application for the scholarship, I mentioned I\u2019d like to help my NMO with succession planning. I now have the necessary tools and connections to do so.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

For women and girls whose struggles often go unheard, the SSMF scholarship aims to create an inter-generational bridge of women from around the world who can learn from one another, and empower each other. \u201cI learnt so much from the experiences of other women and how they deal with [different] situations\u2026 We must overcome these challenges and work together,\u201d said Esra\u2019a Hussein, 29, from Jordan. Through the spaces that were created for collaboration and exchange, Hussein and other scholars said they felt empowered and supported. \u201cWhen I need information,\u201d she continued, \u201cI know there are highly experienced people who are always ready to help me. My family and I are not in this alone.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
